how to be part of the founding cohort

Cohort overview

 The WellXchange™ Founding Cohort runs from now through December. There is no cost to join — this pilot year is fueled by people who care deeply about wellness, community, and creating something meaningful for Arizona.

Together, we will:

  • Build one meaningful wellness shift
  • Collect up to 25 practitioner talks (8–12 minutes each)
  • Create the first version of the WellXchange™ Library
  • Demonstrate impact for 2027 sponsors and partners
  • Support the statewide Practical Wellness Initiative
  • Strengthen the GCC Shannon Wellness partnership

This is not a program you buy. This is a movement you help build.

who this cohort is for

The WellXchange™ Founding Cohort is intentionally open to a diverse mix of passionate contributors — no payment, no barriers, just shared purpose.

Everyday Humans

People who want to:

  • build one wellness shift
  • feel supported
  • practice real‑life wellness
  • be part of a community project
  • contribute ideas that help others

Practitioners + Wellness Professionals

People who want to:

  • share evidence‑aligned ideas
  • record short practitioner talks
  • contribute to a statewide wellness library
  • collaborate with GCC Shannon Wellness
  • help shape the future of ShowUpHappy

Researchers + Academic Contributors

Including:

  • PhD students
  • Master’s students
  • Undergraduate researchers
  • Faculty in health, psychology, kinesiology, social sciences, or public health
  • GCC Shannon Wellness students + staff

These members help strengthen the evidence base of the WellXchange™ Library by contributing:

  • research‑aligned wellness ideas
  • short talks
  • frameworks and models
  • lived‑experience insights
  • citations and source summaries
  • student‑led or faculty‑supported projects

Creators + Communicators

People who want to:

  • record a talk
  • share a lived‑experience insight
  • practice teaching or presenting
  • help build a statewide wellness resource

Leaders + Partners

People who want to:

  • support a statewide wellness initiative
  • help shape the next chapter of ShowUpHappy
  • contribute to a community‑powered movement

cohort goals

 By December, we aim to collect up to 25 practitioner, expert, researcher talks.

Each talk:

  • is 8–12 minutes (max 18)
  • focuses on one evidence‑aligned wellness idea
  • aligns with at least one of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness
  • includes a micro‑win
  • includes a simple citation
  • is filmed on a phone using our guidelines
  • becomes part of the WellXchange™ Library

These talks will be used to:

  • demonstrate impact
  • attract sponsors
  • support GCC Shannon Wellness
  • build your statewide Practical Wellness Initiative
  • seed your book Becoming Better
  • anchor future ShowUpHappy offerings

WELLXCHANGE FRAMEWORK

 Every idea and talk must align with at least one of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness:

  1. Physical
  2. Emotional
  3. Social
  4. Intellectual
  5. Spiritual
  6. Environmental
  7. Financial
  8. Occupational

FILMING GUIDELINES

 Clip Length Requirements

  • Max: 18 minutes
  • Sweet Spot: 8–12 minutes
  • Why: Best for clarity, retention, and micro‑learning

Filming Tips

  • Face natural light
  • Use a stable surface or tripod
  • Quiet room, minimal echo
  • Vertical for reflections, horizontal for teaching
  • Add captions
  • Define any terms or frameworks
